Hello,

I'm writing this with tears in my eye, sorry i did not inform you about my trip, few days I made an unannounced trip to Manila, Philippines and unfortunately I got attacked and mugged at gun point on my way to the hotel where I stayed, all cash, credit card and cell were stolen off me but luckily I still have my passport safe with me.

I have been to the embassy and the Police but they're not helping issues at all and my return flight leaves in few hours from now but I am having problems settling the hotel bills and the hotel manager won't let me leave until I settle the bills.

I'm freaked out here and need your help.

Regards,

steve

Thanks and sorry for the trouble, Guys.
bob sent me an email Dec 13th 2014 saying I was hacked and I changed my password and things were fine until today when I received 6 Forum Member emails including one from Wiz Feinberg explaining steps I needed to take. I'm in the process of doing those now.

Presently, I am not able to receive any new emails so I assume both my email address and password were taken and the password changed by Nigerians. I say Nigerians since I Yahoo provided me with "recent login activity" which shows 3 logins from Nigeria and the rest from China.

Michael Yahl, thanks for notifying me I could not open your email.

James Q. I did use the same prefix I use for my Hotmail account that I use for Yahoo. I have not used hotmail for years and managed to forget that password.

Just to clarify, the message was bogus, I have not been in Manila and the only thing I have lost is a little of my sanity.

For anyone, especially if you have gone through this particular hacking situation where you could not get into your own email, I'd welcome suggestions, if you could spare the time.

Please use a Forum PRIVATE MESSAGE to get in touch .

Also, I am 13 to 16 hours ahead of you in the continental USA, so I may not be able to answer you immediately.

Again, sorry for the trouble.

Smile I suggest that everyone should get a MalwareBytes license from Wiz, the latest build(s) do a phenomenal job and I would not use IE as my main browser, I and some others still think it is muy unsafe. I suggest FireFox and use ADblock+ with it.(the newest ver of adblock has malicious site protection, tracking block, and blocks those annoying, social networking site, hyperlink pop-ups ie: facebook, twitter,g+ etc.) Winking

Surprisingly, yes. Especially that FBI ransom-ware bug that pops up. It locks up your computer so you can't do anything. They say to get some kind of a payment card, and pay them (mine was $300, but it varies) and they will send you a code to unlock your computer. Of course, if you even get a code in the first place, the code does nothing. I Googled that scam, and all kinds or info popped up. Read one where these scams can make millions of dollars for people who don't question, and research, anything that appears strange.

I got one too. I also got an E-mail informing me that I've just inherited 2.5 million dollars.

Maybe I should send the information about the inheritance to the return address on the note allegedly from Steve.

Add me to the list that received it. I have had these before, so I knew it was a scam. I believe the Fulaka guitar guy (can't remember name...Ed Fulaka or spelling of Fulaka?) got taken in from something like this when he received a cry for help from Ed (or was it Joe?) Naylor.

I got one from a good friend that claimed he was in the Ukraine. I knew better, you could't pry this guy out of his E-Z chair. I called him and confirmed that he was comfortable at home and not in the Ukraine.

This can probably be closed. But, you should see some of the doozies I get in the spam folder of an email account I rarely use.
