call the seller, and talk to him on the phone, use only PayPal to pay for the guitar, and you should be ok...if the seller does not want to talk on the phone, or will not take a PayPal, stay away from it, unless you want to drive and pick up guitar yourself... _________________ www.steelguitarsonline.com |

Great advice and agreed Damir old mate. There is a phone number there, but everything is written in Spanish/Mexican for contact?
However most scam's are 'generally' low balled on the price, because they want a quick snatch n grab, but I don't think the price is Low for this guitar.
Nice guitar by the way. _________________ A.K.A Chappy. |

yes my friend, that Spanish add is kind of confusing, and the price is about right, but not low for sure... _________________ www.steelguitarsonline.com |

A little low, but not by a lot. Nice guitar. _________________ 2 pedal steels, a lapStrat, and an 8-string Dobro (and 3 ukes)

Paul, there is a website called tineye.com that searches pics for locations on other websites. None of these pics show them being from another site, so they are probably authentic. That being said, this is probably for real, but at the same time, I wouldn't trust everything I see on the internet. Like others said, call the seller and speak with him/her and CYA during any transaction with a stranger. |

He's a little off on his date, these weren't made until the early 80's. I would doubt it came from the factory with the pearloid stuff on it, this was probably added later. _________________ Darvin Willhoite

I think it'll work out, I mean, you'll get quite a work out. Very likey a nice axe, and maybe just a bit more than 80 lbs. in the case. |

Personally I think it looks spiffy with the wood left on the deck, and the sparkle formica added on.. looks like a decent job from the pics.. Its NOT a great deal.. he's asking about retail I would think... $1500 would be all I would give... bob _________________ I'm over the hill and hittin'rocks on the way down!

That's a nice looking guitar but think they devalued it with all the fancy sparkle. Just too flashy for me. I think the price is very fair. I've got this one and wouldn't take less than $2200 for it. These are the short MSA Classic SS and they sound and play great. Mine just doesn't have the MSA emblem.

I think my SS was only about 60lbs in the case, comparable to most modern D10's. But my '75 Classic D10 weighed 100lbs total in the split flight cases, The guitar was around 75lbs with the case, the pedal bar, legs, and rods in their case was around 25lbs. I latched them together when I could roll them, and unlatched them to carry them.

I seen this case you made before Darvin very cool! I think its time that I made a case for myself.
I just dont trust my brittle MSA case anymore.
Did you use 1/2" plywood? |

I used 3/8" plywood, with 1/8" plastic laminated to it. The top and bottom of the cases was 1/4" with 1/8" laminate to save a little weight. _________________ Darvin Willhoite

Most of the hardware came from Reliable Hardware, you can do a search and find them on the web. I had $200-$250 in hardware alone, and it took a lot of hours of labor, but to buy these from a case company would probable be $1000-$1200. Here's some more pics.
