RFD-TV's "Country Family Reunion" featured a "Ray Price Tribute - Part 1" last night.

I didn't catch all of it but Buddy was name-checked several times by performers including Johnny Bush ("Is Buddy here tonight?... that was the best band I was ever in.") and T.G. Graham (..."that Emmons plays from Mars.").

Bill Anderson, the moderator, threw it to Mike Johnson after T.G. Graham finished "Night Life" and Mike took a few minutes to pay tribute to the Master.

Buddy didn't say a word, never picked a note, but got the only standing ovation from the room the entire night.

Bill Anderson did mention that he would be interviewing Buddy, so I would watch out for future episodes of the Ray Price Tribute on RFD to catch that.

BTW, Buddy looked great. Smile

I saw that--As much a tribute to Buddy, as it was to Ray Price.

I thought Mike Johnson showed a lot of class, during his (too-brief) interview, and played his rear end off during the whole show. I wouldn't have wanted too be in his pac-a-seat!

Thanks for the heads up. And thank goodness for my DVR. It's set. The info says Part 1, so I expect a part 2 at some point.

Thanks for the heads up! I have my DirecTV set up to record new programs, but it lists it as part one again, so it didn't record. It looks like it's on again at 11 PM CST tonight and a few more times next week.

Frank, thank you for bringing this to our attention. I would not have known about it.

You can see the respect that everyone has for Buddy.

The Big E is looking good.

Mike giving his respect to Buddy right after he played Night Life.

Yes, Mike shows real class. He is a super nice guy. But could you imagine having to pay the kick-offs, breaks and songs, that Buddy played on-IN FRONT OF HIM?!!

I have often wondered how many steel players still would like to play the stuff that Buddy was doing 50 years ago!
