Alrighty, I've seen some threaded legs on ebay, and threaded sockets that fit in some lap steels. I'm wondering, do those sockets fit the bolt pattern/bolt circle on an old Gibson console? that way i can get threaded legs and get it to sit a bit higher and a little sturdier. Does anyone know where I can find sockets? Call me lazy, but i really don't feel like making them myself,

Gibson consoles have a 'pocket' that doesn't allow for a retrofit... the legs just slide into holes, the main defect for these guitars. The holes are at the extreme corners of the guitar so you can't put plates in there.

Here's a thought... aluminum rods, same size/depth as the holes... tapped out for pedal steel legs. Epoxy them in there and never look back.

Another option would be a Deluxe34 stand from fellow Forumite Mark Roeder. Mark will make up custom-sized brackets to fit nearly any instrument.

I have two of them. Not cheap, but worth every penny.

I was lucky enough to buy my (granted, newer model C-520) console grande from a man who already found adapter bolts. Legs screw into bolts, bolts screw into guitar.

I've never owned a console grande like yours... does it really not have threaded "twist-in" sockets? Mine does, but the standard PSG telescoping leg thread count is different than the one in the bottom of my guitar. Hm.

The early, three legged Console Grandes had sockets where you inserted the leg and then gave it a quarter turn to lock in place. These were the wobbly ones. Don Helms had one of these and changed it to the screw in type legs.
