...played on the road with George Jones from the '60s into the '80s? From the Atlanta area, perhaps?

Tom Killian played years with George Jones. Not sure if that's your guy?

No, don't think so. The guy I'm looking for is an older gentleman.

Bingo!

Sonny Curtis is the guy. Always thought he was from the Ohio area. Could he have recently relocated to Georgia?

I saw him (well...) and Tammy here in the Bay Area during his "No-Show" days, and Sonny was with them. George didn't show, by the way. We were treated to a fantastic, very long show by Tammy and the Jones Boys. I think I enjoyed that as much, or more, than seeing George.

Agreed. I gotta watch the following clip at least once a week. Just love that early black stereo push-pull with nary a knee lever in sight.

(Isn't that the guitar that Mike Cass now owns, or once owned? It's gotta be fairly high up on the list of "Holy Grail" pedal steels.)

If you have a video of Sonny Curtis playing just pay attention to his pedals. He holds pedals A and B down for an E9th chord and releases them for the A chord. Yep, backwards to the rest of us. Setting up his LeGrande II was a challenge. The raises became lowers on the pedals on E9th. By the way Sonny is one of the nicest gentlemen I have ever met.

Thanks Everyone!!

Thank you, Mr. Curtis.

Sorry about the "Georgia" misunderstanding, but now you know why I was originally misconstrued.
