Hello everyone. I am a true newbie as I have just started lessons on my mom's old Gibson EH 150 lap steel guitar. She has been gone now for 30 years and I decided it's time to honor her memory. I still remember the Sunday mornings when she would pull out her guitar and play for us kids.
I have a good teacher who is a classic and Dobro player. He is a stickler for details and I feel I can be a competent player if I practice and follow his instruction. I am playing in open G which I understand is a classic Dobro tuning. I won't be a frequent poster but I do enjoy reading the posts of others.

Hello Douglas, you are several steps ahead of some others, having a good Instrument, a good Teacher and plenty back-up here on the Forum, don't be afraid to ask.

James.

Welcome Douglas,
I am fairly new also, just about a year now, I find steel guitar has enriched my life a great deal, I'm sure it will you too!
I wish you all the best.

Deirdre
