Hi Happy New Year - somebody know the distance of the pick up,from the steels ? I have a P 90 - I wont change the P90 soapbar ,with a dog ear ,that is more hight ,I dont know if the distance from the steels is right -

Funny, Ill take a stab at this:
Take an American quarter and a dime between the steels and the soapbar and that is a close dimension between heaven and hell, but use the dog ear under the soapbar if neccasary, so stay close my friend,

Hi Craig, I think Giandomenico was referreing to a 'dog ear' P 90 (at least, I HOPE so!). 😊
Dog ear on the left, regular P90 on the right ...

I hear that P-90 pickups are very sensitive to string height. Since they all vary, there is no set dimension that works for all. Maybe start with 5mm then vary it from there, up and down. Listen. You'll have to adjust to find the good height.
