You guys seen that D10 model 210 Marlen on eBay?
Reckon what it's worth. I have zero Marlen experience.
Looking for opinions and experiences.
Nice looking old guitar

That looks like a killer deal to me. Never owned or played a Marlin but heard they were good guitars.
Looks to be a pull-release system on that guitar but again, heard they work fine. _________________ Henry Matthews

If it works right (and unless someone has screwed with it, it should), it's a great deal on a great sounding guitar.
If someone has messed with it, you can get it back together as long as you think about everything a string has to do before you start adjusting things. _________________ 2 pedal steels, a lapStrat, and an 8-string Dobro (and 3 ukes)

As a novice, a Marlen D-10 was my first guitar recently. I dismantled it to a point, re-lacquered the body, polished all the metal, and even added some pulls it didn't have.

Joe Turner is a good'un. I feel blessed, to call him my friend. And those guys in the band--Woody(RIP) and Tony Ledford, Wayne Smith, Johnny Thomas--That is a room full of music, right there! I've gotten to pick with 'em a bunch, a couple of years ago. I look forward to the next time. |

I had a beautiful red D10. Which I never got rid of it. It was very heavy solid wood body. Sounded excellent to my ears (getting old). I think Scott D got it as I traded it to a dealer. I now have another heavy one that I can't get rid of, my wife this ones sounds beautiful also. MSA D10.Bob |

Bob, mine came from a slip shucker in Cleveland TN...
It was originally green but had turned a nice natural blonde that really showed of the maple wood. _________________ Amateur Radio Operator NA4IT (Extra)

I personally knew Leonard Stadler who made the Marlen guitars and I had the opportunity to play his personal guitar. It was an all pull changer and as for tone and mechanical feel it was as good as any of the leading brands. In my opinion you shouldn't hesitate to own a Marlen guitar because it is a quality instrument. |
