I have a beautiful 2006 Eastman Uptown 805ce archtop for sale. It looks and sounds very good. I'm a flat top player, and this one doesn't see any use. There are a few tiny blemishes on the guitar, I'd rate it as 9.5 It comes with a fiberglass hardshell case. The case has several scuffs but is in excellent shape.

Solid wood guitar with a solid carved wood top, and a Armstrong floating pick up, with a hidden volume wheel under the pick guard. $1100 obo plus $50 shipping conus.

Not really interested in trading, but I would consider it if the trade was interesting enough, such as a Clinesmith lap, for example Smile

Steve, volume wise acoustically, the Eastman is not as loud as my Taylor 410 dreadnaught, but is about 3 times louder than my vintage Gibson 175D. I think the Gibson has a laminated top.

Now acoustic sound quality, although it's subjective and a matter of taste, I would rank those three in the following order:

1. Taylor
2. Eastman
3. Gibson

Plugged in...same amp settings, I'd rate them:

1. Eastman
2. Taylor
3. Gibson

Even though it's not my favorite sounding guitar, I can't part with my Gibson, it was a gift from my favorite uncle.

What a sweet Eastman!
If I didn't already have a 910CE, I'd jump all over this one. They play and sound great, not to mention how good they look!
GREAT PRICE!
Whoever gets this one will be happy, happy, happy!

No, the 805ce has a 16" lower bout. The 810 ce models have 17" bouts. Thanks

Eastman guitars are made here in Beijing but only for export unless one has connections, "guanxi", which I do not. Sad

I have only played a couple at a practice studio, but I'd put those two up there against any Gibson arch-top I've ever played at MUCH less the cost.

Good luck with the sale, Rick. stevet

I agree Steve. I have an 803CE which is similar to this guitar but with a set-in pickup. Great axe.

Another annoying bump to the top...(at least a new picture is more interesting than opening the ad just to find "TTT" Right?

I'm fairly certain Rory Hoffman is playing an Eastman archtop in this clip. He's an amazing person

This is a serious pro jazz guitar and a great price for an all solid-wood hand carved arch-top. I'm surprised this is still here, too. Not positive, but I think it's an Eastman in this video featuring DC-based guitarist Steve Herberman, which will give you an idea of the tone: http://youtu.be/m_tudeSvdTs

I'll defer to you all on which guitar is in the video.
I own an Eastman 805 and 910 and can vouch
for the tone. Steve had an endorsement deal
with Eastman so I know he did play 'em.
