I'm not a lap steel player myself, but a co-worker of mine acquired a lap steel recently which she would like to learn how to play. Where could she go to find training materials?

There are many good books for lap steel (of course just about any book for Dobro® would work as well). Since you appear to be in San Jose, California, I'd recommend a trip to Gryphon Stringed Instruments in Palo Alto. They have a good range of instructional material and some nice lap steels as well.

If it's a 6 string lap steel, Scotty has an exelent book for C6 tuning available from www.scottysmusic.com book includes CD or cassete. Good Luck, "Guitar"Bobby
