With Lloyds permission, I would like to present, "The White Light".

“The White Light”….he wrote it in 1990 and never recorded it until now.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GM7Fi2tqGo0

I would like to encourage your thoughts on this project.

It is by far, the most emotional composition of music I have heard, period!

In collaboration with Ricky Davis, he summed it up perfectly:

“ A Great Melody still can be written these days; as proven by Lloyd Green with this original composition written BY Lloyd Green.
With his captivating melody and movements in phrases; put me on the edge of my chair throughout the whole song. There is really no other steel guitarist that can do that to me”.

Credits:

Lloyd Green: Steel Guitar
Bass guitar (tic-tac) and vibes : Billy Sanford
Upright acoustic bass : Dennis Crouch
Rhythm guitars (multiple) : Russ Pahl
Engineer and Producer : Russ Pahl

I was privileged to hear Mr. Green play this song at St. Louis a few years ago. I recorded his set on a small cassette player.

He said his inspiration for the song was Tommy White. Absolutely beautiful...

Hey guess what. Lloyd is the only player that can play like that,so don't get your hopes up. You or myself will never play that well and sound that good. We can try, but most of us won't even come close.

Just had a listen to this on my iPhone in a break on my gig this evening. Lloyd is a master player - discarded way too prematurely by the Nashville machine - and one who still has the most creative mind of them all.

The list of countless recording stars in the 60s, 70s,80s and on, can contribute their success to this man, "Mr. Nashville Sound".

And, not to mention the 1000's of aspiring steel players who spent ALOT of time trying to figure out what was going on with these melodic arrangements.

Not only is Lloyd the epitome of an innovative eminence on the steel, he is equally representative of a sagacious population in the music industry.

We still have Lloyd with us and he is still putting these kind of arrangements together.

As Walt Stettner put it, "It is Hauntingly Beautiful".
