Yes, that is Walter Haynes from his album "Steel Guitar Sounds" on Mercury.

Thanks guys - this reminds me I have to learn more about Walter Haynes' playing. Cut at Columbia (not Starday) with the Merry Melody Singers - the same group on Jimmy Day's "Golden Steel Guitar Hits." The Merry Melody Singers must have been the Mercury house group - even appearing on Clyde McPhatter, Brook Benton and Patti Page records and even "Ahab the Arab" all for Mercury. (and a Bill Deaton 45 - I'll mention "if just to see the smiling faces in the band.")
