I recently heard a Dwight Yoakam song called "Close Up The Honky Tonks" and I fell in love with it. I'm a newbie and would appreciate any help you old timers could offer on this made for steel song!

Thanks in advance!!!

Hi Kevin -

Be sure to check out Buck's version of the song, too.

Harold Bullard did a great job of tabbing out Close Up The Honky Tonks from the album "Bakersfield Bound"(Chris Hillman and Herb Pedersen). It's almost Desert Rose Band, Ken as Jay Dee Maness plays steel.

Hey Kevin...Didn't mean to hijack your Dwight Yoakam thread but I can highly recommend the Bakersfield Bound CD if you like that West Coast "honky tonk" steel sound. Every cut on it has Jay Dee Maness killing it. If you get the CD and like it, search Harold Bullard's contributions in the tablature section - I think he's tabbed out most of the great steel parts on the album. Enjoy!
