I'm thinking about changing out the single coil PUP (probably a True-Tone) in an aluminum neck Williams S10 for something that has a little mellower top end. A Bill Lawrence 705 or 710 seems like a good candidate, or most any of the George L PUPs.
Any recommendations or comments?
Is this as easy a job as I think it is? (I know how to solder simple things.) _________________ It don't mean a thing if it ain't got that swing. |

Is yours a wide mount or narrow mount?
I just bought a new wide mount BL-705 that I can't use.
And yes, if you can solder without burning yourself too bad it's pretty easy to do. _________________ Jb in Ohio

Handy hint: a beer bottle or similar under the strings (use some cloth to protect the pretty wood) will eliminate the need to remove the strings. _________________ 2 pedal steels, a lapStrat, and an 8-string Dobro (and 3 ukes)

Bill put 705's in mine when he built it. They sound great. |

Looks like John Booth and I have struck a deal. I should be trying out a Lawrence 705 soon. _________________ It don't mean a thing if it ain't got that swing. |

And if you can figure out a place to put the switch, you can run a 705 in single coil mode at will _________________ 2 pedal steels, a lapStrat, and an 8-string Dobro (and 3 ukes)

Paul, You'll like the 705. Lane is right, you can switch it to single / double with a simple $3 switch.
NOW, I need a narrow mount 705 for my Mullens.
Anyone selling one here?
