So I've got a friend who would like me to back him up on Wayfaring Stranger for a Christmas talent show. He will be playing an Amin native american flute pentatonic scale.Should the flute be playing the IV? So I would play the acoustic guitar in the key of E? Or should I play in the Key of Am or C? This confuses me? Or should I just hang it up and sell the guitars? Sad

If he is playing the melody in Am then just play the chords. If I remember right the chords are Am, F and G.

Thank you so much Bob.
Someone from the Flute Forum sent a link to a Key transposing
website that some others might find useful.

They just happened to have Wayfaring Stranger transposed from Cm to Am as a sample so I didn't even have to do any of the work!I still need to work on my theory and get Mike Perlowins book down off the shelf.
