Was great to see Lee Ann Womack backed up with only pedal steel (not sure who the player was on a Franklin) doing the Star Spangled Banner. Great win for the Eagles also.

I sure was shocked when I saw only the lone pedal steel.
behind Lee Ann, and this this grey headed gentleman setting there behind it. Wow what a backup. Made the hair stand up on the back of my neck. Hope someone recorded this. Out standing.

Paul was getting some terrific sustain out of that guitar. I wonder how that was done?

Really nice to hear a rendition by someone not trying to sound like they just stumbled out of a black gospel church!

And Paul could play chopsticks and I'd buy a ticket.

Paul got great sustain because he's a great player and had a great guitar. Franklin's sustain for days. Plus I'd imagine he was playing through his Lil Walter.

I just heard this. This could not have been done better or as Chris said, more heart felt. I teared up a little on two fronts. The great performance and the way the country is going. RP

I freaked out when I saw the camera pan in and there was but a lone steeler on the platform there.

I was exclaiming to my wife, "Have you ever seen a side man out there playing anything for the National Anthem and when you do, there is a guy playing steel, Lookie Lookie"

"....... "Yes dear, I see......"

That was super classy.
