Fred Justice outdid himself with this Fatback Judge!
I can't thank you enough Fred. It is an outstanding instrument! Like all your builds, the mechanics are solid and smooth as butter and the tone is as clear as as bell. It is everything and more you said it would be. Your commitment to your business is outstanding and refreshing. I am a truly satisfied customer!
Thank you again Mr. Justice.

Killer. I love the green+white pearloids and the cool fat back. Fred's guitars are on my short-list of guitars to check out. Where ya's at in Jersey? I get there pretty often, my brother's in West Windsor, my best buddy teaches at Rutgers. |

I thought it was only fitting that the top deck of the guitar be done up in black mica. It was in homage to the pedal steel guitar gods that believe black guitars have a special mojo to them. Who am I to disagree? Thank you fellas for the kind words. This is all about Fred and the Justice brand guitars he is currently turning out. Fred Justice, in my book, is an American treasure in the pedal steel world and it makes me really happy to be able to refer to him as a friend and mentor. _________________ JusticeJudge |

How does the fat back differ from the standard back other than appearance? Tone? Sustain? |

That mica is known as Ripple, Pearl or Oyster, depending who the distributor and/or builder is. Fred just recently did a MINT color ripple that was absolute killer! I'm a big fan of this style of mica. _________________ JusticeJudge |

Roger, I really feel this would make a great topic for a new thread. I'll run it up the flag pole and see who salutes. _________________ JusticeJudge |

Hi Roger, in answer to your question.
Other than appearance the fat back has no bearing on tone or sustain in my estimation.
Frank wanted to see while playing what folks out front was seeing so he wanted to do a full split on the rear apron.
I told Frank, that aluminum trim would need to be used on the bottom as is on top of the apron.
Thus it would need to be a "Fat Back" to use the trim all the way across the bottom. So there she is, the fat back and rear split apron was born. _________________ Email: azpedalman@gmail.com
