Have had little luck finding a seat for short money - $100+. I could build one easily, but I can't seem to find where to get the short folding legs.

Any thoughts? Thanks, Ned

You can purchase conduit pipe at Lowes, Home Depot, etc. If you don't have a pipe bender, take it to an electrician, he can bend the pipe for you without crimping it. Measure and cut with hacksaw or sawsall or have them cut it at the electricians. Buy four caps for the legs and you are good to go.

No matter who bends the legs consider how you will fold them. Make one of the U-bends narrower so when the legs are folded. One set of legs will fold inside the other set for a little less height in the folded up legs on the seat. If both sets of legs are bent the same size, You will need to add a wood strip to one side, The thickness of the leg diameter. This way one side of the legs will fold in first, Then the other side will fold on top of the first set. And one set of legs have to be cut shorter because of the wood strip for the seat to sit level. Also if this way is used, be sure to make the flange on the bottom of the seat wide enough so the legs will not stick out when folded. Good Luck in your build.
