Congratulations to one of the very best. The USA-Today Newspaper announced in the State by State section that covers all States that Russ Hicks (member of the ISGHOF) to receive another HOF honor. This time he has been voted in the West Virginia musicians Hall of fame as a Pedal Steel and Dobro player. This is a Hall of fame for all Genres of Musicians from Rock to Jazz popular to Country. It's a well deserved honor for one of the best all around musicians I have ever met. I thank Smiley Roberts for calling me to let me know and he asked me to post something to let ya'll know. Russ is more than a Pedal Steel and Dobro player and could equally have been honored as a Horn (Sax-Trumpet)Guitarist bassist and a pretty darn good vocalist. Thus he belongs in any musicians HOF. Congrats Russ and Thanks to Smiley for the heads up. Check out USA.COM in the State by State section. |

Thanks Joe and all you guys, it's a very humbling experience...Mike A.,it's wonderful to have you back up and atem', it hasn't been a very good year for either of us health wise but it looks like better times are a'comin'; God is good! I know some of the guys in the WVHOF and just like the ISGHOF I'm very very lucky (blessed) to be in the company of my heros. |

Russ is a well deserving member in any musician's HOF. He's a super picker and one of my favorites. You can always count on Russ to get the job done, no matter what kind of music or situation. A true pro for sure.
