I'll be there from mid Dec to mid Jan and am interested as well.

I know that Jeff Au Hoy will be at the Royal Kona Resort on Christmas day because he told me so in Ft. Collins, but that's all I know.

Tuesday night at Hilo Town Tavern in Hilo is Kanakapila featuring the fantastic Dwight Tokumoto. One of my favorite steel guitarists and an all around great guy. Catch him if you can...he also plays for Kahulanui and a lot of others on the BI. Well worth the trip in.

Unfortunately, most steel players live and work on Oahu because of the ability to gig in Honolulu. There are a few steelers on Maui, and Ed Punua plays from time to time on Kauai. As mentioned above, Konabob Stoffer plays on the Big Island, and Sonny Lim sometimes plays with Kahlua Nui.

And something else about Dwight is that he is just as good, (if not better) a guitarist then he is a steel guitarist. I'm a huge fan of his and have been fortunate to jam with him a few times at parties and such. A very generous player and a lot of fun too...
