Walter Haynes' Bigsby steel . This is the 7th Bigsby Steel Paul Bigsby made. Around 1957 Shot Jackson put Maple inserts to the necks and put his pedal mechanisms in.
I'm asking $7000 ,but am negotiable. My ph # is 604 876 6103

I could see Bobbe Seymour gettin' real giddy seein' that Bigsby. Them fingers would be twitchin' to strum that thing! He loved 'em _________________ If it's a penny for your thoughts!!!

Hey Jimmy - long time no see. Do you ever get down this way? Beautiful guitar. Looks like Shot also replaced the fretboards? |

The Bigsby pedal steel is on the right in this Jimmy Dickens band photo. The things on the left are drums.

Hi Tim , Haven't been doing much road. Work, and haven't been to Denver since forever. Are you still pedalling more or non pedaling these days? Cool pic of "The Country Boys" thanks Chris for posting it! |

Ah, Dickens and the Country Boys with Walter playing that very steel came to my high school. Walter was very gracious to an awe struck kid. _________________ LeGrande II, Nash. 112, Fender Twin Tone Master, Session 400, Harlow Dobro, R.Q.Jones Dobro |

Great photo - wow! What a cool guitar with loads of historic value. Too rich for me but good luck with the sale Jimmy. I'm still playing my Fender 1000. (Now, off to buy those lotto tickets.) |

Walter's steel appears to have one floor pedal.
The current picture shows none, was it removed? What was the original set-up?
Very cool stuff!
Thanks,

Is it the same guitar? The guitar in the band photo looks like a single neck guitar.

Looks like it had the plunger type mechanism til Shot put 6 pedals on with rods etc. in mid 50's. Here's a clip of Walter with Jimmy Dickens in early 50's playing this guitar. http://youtu.be/r9EsissdorI

Ahh, the bottom side pic clearly shows a stepped neck, and why multiple necks can't bee seen in the straight on shot. Awesome classic. Loved the video. Regards, John |

Hey Jimmy, long time no see! Hope you're doin' well! Just FYI, in 2004 I received an email from Frankie Juricek sayin': "I had the fifth (5) Bigsby made by Paul Bigsby in 1948. Noel Boggs made my acquaintance with Paul.
It was three neck...8 strings on each neck....Paul inlaid " FRANKIE" on the front. Walt Haynes purchased the Bigsby from me. I played with Leon Payne for three years using the Bigsby on all the recordings...including
"I Love You Because".
So if this really is the same guitar, which I believe it is, Walter took it back to PA and had "Frankie" inlay removed and that plaque was put on it, and possibly the pedal added. |

Thanks Jussi. Yep it's the same one. It has Frankie inlaid under the plate in script style black letters. Great to trace Frankie's full name. Hope to see you soon. |
