I just spent the afternoon visiting with a musician who has a Recording Business and plays traditional/original music.
Among his instrument collection he has a Cromwell Lap Steel with the original case. The steel is in excellent condition, very close to mint. The pick-up is two pole, one for top 3 strings and one for the bass.
Dark in color, it looks like a Gibson Lap Steel design.
The Ser # is .... EKE 4135
Daniel, the owner says he believes it dates back to the late 30's, maybe 1937?
Brad, are you familiar with name/model?

Roy: The guitar was made by Gibson in 1939. It's essentially a Kalamazoo (Cromwell was a mail-order company which jobbed-out work to Gibson). I had one of these. It was a lovely instrument.
