It's been quite a while since I taught privately, but I was charging $75/hour.

I, on the other hand, would be lucky to get $30.00.

Is that a fact?

What does your plumber cost for an hour? I just paid $115. One hour to repair my AC unit, 120 dollars. How about your mechanic? Or your electrician. What it probably is, is that you value their services more than you'd value a steel guitar teacher. So you think that less than what the tradesman would charge is "A LOT."

Well, I've been playing steel longer than many of today's players have been alive. I have a track record and a resume. I know how to play steel and I know how to teach it. I've written more than several courses. I don't solicit business and I value my time, as well I should.

Send the Valium to me. I charge $75 for 90 minutes. I would gladly pay Herb $150 if I had the chance to learn from him.
