I doubt if there is a book solely devoted to Fender steel guitars, but can anyone recommend to me a book that covers Fender steels the best ? Mostly interested in the non pedal steels but anything would do.
Thanks in advance _________________ Zum Encore, Remington D8 non pedal, Hallmark Mosrite clone, Gretsch 6120 DSW, Gretsch G5210T-P90 Electromatic Jet Two 90,1976 Ibanez L5, Eastman archtop, Taylor Dreadnaught, Telonics pedal, Squire Tele, Squire Strat, Fender Tonemaster, Gold Tone 5 string banjo, Little Wonder tenor banjo, 3 Roland cubes 30s and 80, Carvin combo bass amp |

No, but there should be. It would be great if A.R. Duchossoir would undertake a project such as this. His book Gibson Electric Steel Guitars 1935-1967 is both beautiful and informative.
Agree with Andy about Richard Smith's excellent Fender: The Sound Heard Around The World. It has lots of info about Fender steels, and nearly everything else about the company. A truly great book. |

Thanks Larry for posting the question, and Andy for the answer. I've been wondering the same thing.
Would anyone recommend a book on Fender amplifiers?
I suppose I should post this in the amplifier section. |

I checked out a book from the library a couple of years ago: Fender, The Golden Age 1946-1970 by Kelly Martin. It Had a lot of info & pictures of guitars (including steel) amps and advertising. |

You're welcome. Smith's book is definitely the one to own. He has a passion for the house of tweed and there are hundreds of great photos and graphics. _________________ Steel Guitar Books! Website: www.volkmediabooks.com |
