Sounds like bad/dirty jacks could be causing some of the problem. Dirty pots can cause that too.

Only Goodrich can repair it. They have never published the schematic for these. Anyone else that would try to repair it, other than a switch/jack/pot would just be lucky if they did.

Yes for sure...and so can bad power...had an issue last weekend. Burned up 2 amps also .... Goodrich was a fantastic product.. but needs some professional loving care from the builder...also will need some updating... 20 or 30 + years old now.
I have the contact info now...Thank you..

There's no "updating" of the units. I have one of the original models, with the Tone control in bypass. Still functions perfectly.

With the sound I get from mine, I wouldn't want any "updating". I fool Bluegrassers with it and people come up to the stage wondering where the "Dobro" is.

Great unit, but what else would you expect. It had a great designer. Thanks for everything Buddy!

Thanks to David Biggers for contact information I just talked with Ollie Goodrich. He is back at work and Goodrich is going strong. Ollie asked me to pass on his new phone number so here it is:
(478) 246-7187
Thanks again David!
