It break my heart to do this but I play a lot with my short scale Fender 1000 for 75% of my gigs and Im too used to the short scale and string spacing of the Fender that I have trouble playing the long scale Clinesmith.
This steel is the best I ever played and love it at lot but I just have to have a short scale to keep a good technique and vibrato when I switch guitar.
Its a very special guitar, Todd made some special design for it.
-The string spacing is wider to help slant : 2 3/4 at the bridge and 2 3/8 at the nut
-It have 3 legs (rare for this model)
-No volume control, if you have a volume pedal you dont need one and it give space for right hand pinky.
-Reverse tone control for easy and deep Doo-Whaa effect.
I would like to trade for a short scale S8 or D8 in great shape, I don't the mind cosmetic but it have to work at 100%.
The Clinesmith is used now because I played a lot with it so it have some digs and the black paint is used where I pick but its in great shape and it deserve a player that will take it for is #1 instrument because its a peace of art.
Since the Clinesmith worth the double of a Fender I can trade but you pay both shipping to Canada (around 50$), I can live with loosing the value of my guitar but dont want to pay for it!

You can see there is some paint scratch from the picking and at the head from a little accident on a gig.
Since I can easily find a nince Fender like I need I can take cash.
1500$ plus shipping. |

Wow! I have really enjoyed my Fender Deluxe 8 and wasn't planning on getting rid of it but this sounds too good to be true. Sounds like I have what you would want. I believe it was made in the early 80's and comes with legs and a nice fender case. I'll send pics tomorrow morning. Thanks, Jeff |
