If you think you saw this posted recently, that's because I bought it recently. However, I came across a much cleaner one (albeit more expensive) and have decided to trade up.

This was Vega's first lap steel, made only in 1936-7 before they switched to a wooden body. It has a humbucking pickup, and the two rows of pole pieces can be seen protruding through the top of the body under the hand rests. It has a 25" scale.

The bad news:
- The finish is mostly gone from the top and heavily worn on the sides.
- The tone knob is not functional. My repair tech says the pot is OK, so it must be the cap. I've left the original in place for the sake of originality, and because this is a mellow-sounding instrument to begin with.
- One tuner is a perfectly-matching replacement.
- A couple of screws holding on the tuners are broken. There is no effect on the tuners' functionality.

The good news:
- This thing sounds wonderful. It's mellower than the wood-bodied Vegas and sustains forever.
- The volume knob still works, and the one bad solder joint has already been repaired.

It comes with a guitar-sized gig bag. I'm just trying to get back what I have into it, and $Sold should cover that including Paypal fees and shipping within the US.
