I have an old Valco-made Alkire E-Harp, and the (celluloid?) imitation pearl covering has shrunk and is starting to come loose along the bottom edge, and has started to crack in some places. Does anybody have any ideas on how to stabilize and repair this stuff? Thanks!

Maybe some kind of clear epoxy and then buff it out?

I believe Acetone can dissolve that material. be careful not to spill it on the good smooth sections. Experiment with a part that is invisble.
