Quite some time ago I read quite a bit of rhetoric somewhere on the forum regarding lowering 6th string on E9th.
I've tried to search the archives but failed to find anything on it.
Which lever would I use to make this work or to combine this change on, or would I have to make up a new lever for it to work??

Bob,
That change is used a lot on RKL combined with the raising of the first string and sometimes the raising of both first and second strings. Personally I have that change on RKL with no other changes. |

The standard E9th setup now is:
A B C LKL LKV LKR RKL RKR
F# G
D# D/C#
G# A
E F# F D#
B C# C# A#
G# A F#
F#
E F D#
D C#
B C# A#
However, more and more are changing RKL so it raises the first string to a G# and the 2nd string to an E; as well as continuing to lower the 6th string a whole tone. I predict this will become standard in the not too distant future.

Like Allan above, I raise 1 & 2 and lower 6 on RKL. THere ARE times that it gets in the way and I think I'd like a separate pedal for it, but the feeling usually passes when I imagine the work to do it, particularly on both guitars. |

I lower my 6th string with the knee lever that lowers the 2nd and 9th string.

lowering it with LKR is a good change. In fact it is better than A/F combinations since you do not have to play sharp of the fret (JI). Of course alone, it creates a suspended 9th which embelishes the suspended 4th using just the B pedal.
But none of the above is how I personally use it the most. The splitting with the B pedal has become a major change for me. The reasons are; it gives me a 7th chord on strings 4, 5 and 6; plus it gives a given major chord its minor chord (splitting) without having to move the bar and change my foot from A and B to B and C.
Also, there is a great V7 to I chord resolve using strings 5, 6 and 8 IF you lower your B's to Bb. IE, engage both changes and then as you let off of both, engage LKR. A very handy move. Sure you can get the same change on 4, 5 and 6 (LKR and B pedal); BUT you may not be at that location.
Just one more added goodie IMO.
Using the knee lever with A and B AND either LKR OR LKL (4, 5 and 6), gives you another 7th inversion to 9th inversion 1 fret up from the dominant chord position. A great change to have in your arsenal.
I find these advantages make this probably one of my most used knee levers, If not the most.
May Jesus bless you all,

Many thank's guys for all the "come-backs"
It looks like - for me anyhow, that I'll be placing it on RKL and see how it'll turn out.
There's a lot of thought gone into that change and thinking ahead, it must be used quite frequently by a lot of players......all I need now is the time to make it happen for me

LKL for my G#. throw in my B pedal and it gives me a G major(when playing in G)
C major(playing in C) etc.
this LKL also raises my first string 1/2 tone. I can also get a minor by using the
LKL alone. |
