Look what came last Thursday Mullen RP 3x5 SD10 .Well worth the 4 month build time.It is totally totally awesome.
By far the Best steel I have ever owned. In support of James Quakenbushs thread , this guitar has a great feel and everything is so easy to play .The pedal/ lever action is so light with an easy short travel. The sound is balanced and smooth with long even sustain.Tone is so sweet with no peaks in the frequency range .I didn't think a PSG could be so good as this in all aspects.

If I was to criticise it would be the case !!

The steel sits directly onto foam with no supports on the body - ? potential problems of weight of steel on fingers over time as foam compresses .Any thoughts on this folks.

However I can't thank Mullen enough for this masterpiece.THE BEST .

i wouldn't think you'd hurt the fingers. keep in mind the case will usually be resting on it's side, putting the stress on the steel from the side.
the tuners however might get bumped occassionally.

That is how Carter did their cases. I always felt apprehensive but I never had a problem.

I'm glad you got your guitar and like it.

As for the case. We have done our homework and we got away from the block thing mainly due to the fact the guitar is only supported on a small portion of the body, this also creates lasting marks on most every finish, especially a lacquer model. So we did research on foam and came up with what we use.

We have had great success with stability and longevity of the foam.

The way I see it, if your foam wears out. You have your guitar packed up way too much. Laughing Just play the heck out of it and you won't need the case Very Happy

Thanks for the reply Mike.
I would recommend Mullen to anyone over here in the UK .I have always wanted a traditionally built PSG to replace my old and long gone LDG . The Mullen RP you made me is FAR better than my LDG was ,and that for me is saying something! I feel my quest is over now and can once again relax knowing the Mullen is making me an extremely happy chappy !
Yes the steel is always set up in my music room ready to play at any time so no worries about its case time .
Regards and thank you to Del and the rest of the team.

Dave, had pre RP for a while and it was a fantastic guitar, owing to back problems it was too heavy for me so went to MSA Milly, also fantastic guitar, if I had cash I would buy a Mullen to keep set up at home,( possibly a Rittenbery also) .On trying my Mullen my good friend Willie Gamble was so impressed that he also bought an RP , and is delighted with it.Mike and the guys at the factory give first class service.Enjoy. Very Happy
