I want to thank Gary Rittenberry, who is a true craftsman and master steel guitar builder, for building the first production Prestige SD-10 which I took delivery of in early September. Everything about this guitar is first class: tone, sustain, playability, mechanics, design, workmanship, quality, minimal cabinet drop, and I could go on and on. When I sit down to play the guitar, it is analogous to driving the finest luxury sports car. Yes, it is really that good! I also want to give a shout out to Susan at Studio Slips for the great cover. Thanks also to Wayne Dahl for answering all my questions. Finally, thanks to Jason at Red Dirt Cases for the split wheeled flight case that fits like a glove. I know I will be getting a lot of enjoyment playing this guitar for years to come.

P.S. - I forgot to mention that this guitar has Gary's innovative, new quick change bellcranks which makes it very easy to do setup changes.

Purty. One of my neighbors has one on order: can't wait to see it in person!
Gary makes them good.

Very nice guitar you got there. I live not to far from you and wonder if you play around the area so that I might take a look at it sometime.

Thanks, Carl. It is inspiring to play this guitar. And your black Big Tuning wrench works very well with it too!

Very Nice, I have a PSG that Gary built in 2013 and bought used. It was a 3 by 5 and Gary had it shipped to him first. He added a 4th pedal and set it up to my liking. SD-10 4 by 5. The thing meets his personality, plays like a sports car compared to the other guitars I have had, it is my 7th steel and will be my last. Nothing better and no one better than Gary. IMO, these will be the most sought after guitars before its done.

The kicker. Gary wanted me to be satisfied and offered to do this at no cost CLG

Great looking guitar Gary, if it sounds and plays better than his older ones that would be an amazing guitar! I think Gary is a great guy and builder and i love talking to him. Congrats on that beauty!

Gary, this is my next guitar! I currently have a Rittenberry SD-10, black mica 3x5 which Gary built for me in 2008. I have had a friend (mentor) Larry Behm tell me how good it sounds and how easy it is to play, and he's a devout PP Emmons guy. I admit, I will never sell this guitar, but I'm not averse to having Gary build me a Prestige in the future. I think I'll load it up with lots-o-pedals like David Hartley!

Very nice Gary! Glad to hear your lovin your new Prestige. One thing notable about the Prestige from an acoustic standpoint (no amp) is the amount of sustain and how the sustain fades "evenly" from top to bottom...Meaning, any triad you pick will have relatively the same volume and sustain of the next string. That's a good thing!

Gary, congratulations on your new Ritt. You'll enjoy every minute you spend playing it. Gary R. is a fine fellow and builds a great steel. Hope to have me a Prestiege one day.
Best wishes,

I am sorry for being so naive but, what is the difference between the regular Rittenberry and the Prestige one? Improvements or quality.
Is there a difference in price?
Rittenberry sure does get good reviews on this forum.
Maybe there will be one in my future

Thanks in advance

Bob

Jim - The setup weight is 36.5 lbs. The empty split cases are 21 lbs and 13.5 lbs. With the guitar, the weights are 47 lbs and 24 lbs.

Robert - there are many differences between the regular Rittenberry and the Prestige model. Yes, the Prestige is higher priced. Here is a discussion of some of the differences and the design goals for the Prestige:

Give Gary a call if you have more questions or want a quote. He is a great guy to talk to.

I just received my new Rittenberry Prestige! It is an
exact duplicate of Gary Peaslee's Guitar. Thanks Gary
for posting the beautiful pictures for both of us,
When I took the guitar out of the beautifully plush lined case, I was seeing a guitar like no other I have ever seen
The unbelievable Workmanship is amazing, I have owned a ton of guitars, and none equaled the Rittenberry, My long
time friend, Wayne Dahl is coming over to check it out
in a couple days, To get this excited at my age is
amazing! I honestly believe Rittenberry is the guitar
of the future! and Gary R. is fantastic to work with!
Sincerely! Al Udeen
