You play a few years and it's gotta happen at least once, usually the bar and picks are in a bag and you forget to put the bag back in the seat before you load.
You get there and have to play bare handed with a mini liquor bottle. Great tone Laughing
PS: be sure and peel off the label first and have the band announce you with a fictitious name!

I'm almost 76, and forgetting something like a bar, is getting waaay too easy. My gig, stuff is always kept separate from my practice things. I know it's more expensive, but my gig outfit(PSG, pac-a-seat, bar, picks, extra strings, tools, etc.)is all, only used when playing out. Everything in my practice outfit is the same as the gig outfit, except the color of the steels(neither one is black Laughing ), and my gig steel has a feel, half stop on the E lever. Only way I can forget the bar, is to forget the whole outfit! If that ever happens, I quit! Laughing -Jake-

Yup, many years ago when petals were just something steel players dreamed about. Got an empty miniature whiskey bottle and used it. Embarassed
It worked, but I never wanted to do it again.

Oh yeah, like Bo said. I had to pick with no picks because they were with the bar

Played a battle of the bands at Bronco's Steakhouse in Edinburgh. Left picks and bar on a ledge behind the bandstand. Got to the Touch of Gold for the gig, and no picks/bar. Used a long cylindrical shot glass for a bar, it was actually pretty nice,,,, thick glass. But no picks? Talked some girl into driving and getting mine. I had to pay though,,,,,,,,,,,,,,...............
