Cool steel. How old is it and how much does it weigh? |

James, I used to own a Sierra S14 that looked just like this. Accounting for two less strings and three less knee levers (mine was 8 pedals and 7 knee levers), I'd say an approximate out-of-case weight would be about 60 to 65 lbs. As for the vintage, my guess would be about 1982 to 1984.
I toured with my Sierra for several years and it was always 'bullet-proof and 30 feet tall' (100% reliable). If this guitar has been maintained as well as it looks, it's a solid investment.
Dan, if you post the serial number, I'll be able decipher the vintage.
Keep on picking'!

The serial number will tell you what year it was built.

Dan, the year this guitar was built is indicated by the last two digits of the serial number. Your guitar was built in 1983. The S14 I used to own was of this same vintage and was built by steel maestro, Bill Stafford when he worked at Sierra Instruments. It's quite likely he also built yours. I also notice that your guitar, like the one I owned has the most excellent and coveted Dan Shields pickup.
Whoever buys your guitar will be getting an excellent instrument. Best wishes for both you and the happy new owner.
Keep on picking'!

Hi Dan, I'm very interested in your Sierra 12. I'm new to the forum and not sure the best way to proceed from here. Question: Does the price include shipping to lower 48? I can send you a personal check or pay via PayPal once the terms are agreed to. Looking forward to your reply. |

Dan,
Lake Kiowa is about 30 miles North of Denton, east off of I35 about 10 miles. It's a gated community on a big lake. We really like it here.
