Has anyone tried replacing the plastic or bone bridges on a non-pedal with a metal bridge? I got to wondering about that, since the modern pedal steels all have metal bridges. How would the tone be affected -- better or worse?

I haven't made these modifications; but I bet it would be a big improvement. I'd go with the stainless steel also.
