I'm currently enjoying my 6-string RK lap-steel with two multibender levers.
After much discussion and advice from SGF members, I found the ideal tuning (for me)...
LO to HI: B C# E G# B E, the levers raise the G# to A and the top B to C#
This set-up works well for me, but I'm now thinking of trading up to a basic six-string, two pedal PSG.
If I decide to make the move, and maintain my present tuning, how best could I utilise two pedals?
Or would I have to start afresh with a tuning more suitable to being able to raise two PAIRS of strings (rather than two SINGLE strings)?

If you are sold on moving to a six string 2 pedal steel, consider tuning it to an open E chord (G# E B G# E B High to low). Raise the G#s to A with one pedal, and the Bs to C# with the other. This would allow you to get your I, IV and relative minor all on the same fret, and your V chord 2 frets higher.

Hmmm....I've tried open E in the past on my lap steel with the multibender, I found it a bit 'dobro-ish'...I'd like to keep the 6th or 9th sound if I could?

The pedal that raises the Bs to C# will give you the 6th when used by itself.
