Up for sale is a left handed S10 BMI in excellent condition. This is a two owner guitar built in 2008, it was the first left handed birdseye model built by BMI. SN #1345.

This guitar is currently using the Day setup with 4 and 6. Franklin pedal. Copedant attached below. It has a Gene Turner Power Boost pickup installed. Custom inlay work on the all wood body and neck.

There is one known issue with this steel. The previous owner modified two of the legs to add approximately 2" of lift. See the closeup photo below, it is easier to show than explain. This looks to me like a permanent modification, so in order to get everything back to standard height, it would need at least two legs replaced, if not all four. BMI sells lightweight replacement aluminum legs, I am not sure about the cost. There is another set of pedal rods included approximately 1/2" shorter than the rods on there now.

The guitar comes with a like new Paico split case, along with the original case which is in fair condition and needing a new handle.

This guitar is offered for sale at $2600 plus shipping.

absolutely gorgeous BMI, the most beautiful BMI I have ever seen... I don't think 2" extensions are a problem, they might be screwed on, but if not, I would just take a saw, and cut them off, I think that would do a trick, if not, I would just buy a piece of pipe (like the previous owner did) and replace them, they insert inside the leg, and you can't see them any way... I don't think there is a need for new legs... gorgeous guitar...

Good point, Damir. I think you might be right. Might be able to be put back to original without buying new legs. The aluminum legs are nice though, I have a set on my Millennium.

More on this guitar, it was originally built by BMI for Vern Mandrell. I talked to him last week and he said he will answer any questions anyone has if I am not able to.

It sure is, Randy. The photos don't do it justice. Really, really nice guitar that was well taken care of.

John, I even talked to Don to see if their was any way to change it to a righty. It is the perfect combo of guitar and pickup. The only thing better might be two necks. Someone better jump on this one.

Did you talk to Don Burnham at BMI? Both he and Vern Mandrell were very helpful in answering all my questions about this guitar.

It is a thing of beauty for sure. Wish I were left handed. Wonder if Phil Mickelson plays steel?

Hi there. I am a lefty steel player. I sold the two steel guitars I ever owned a while back, but might consider playing again. This guitar looks nice, and I have long legs so the modification might be just what I need. Let me know if you are still selling her and if you would consider selling at $2000.

Thanks,
Steve
