I have some conflicted emotions about streaming services like Spotify, since they are notorious for screwing over performers.
But I use it to window shop records I want to buy. And hey, they have it on release day.
You can listen to the whole thing here:

Be warned. You have to sign up
I'm assuming it is not available on Vinyl. Someone correct me if I am wrong and I'll scoop it up.
This could tide you over on your way to the record shop. |

Awaiting my CD but, I've had access to the mixes for a while.
A wonderful and unique project.
I admit a bias though!

I downloaded this yesterday from iTunes. It's a fascinating look at three different artists and their approaches to the resonator guitar. I'll need some time to fully digest everything in it, but so far I like it a lot.
Mike Auldridge's medley of Til There Was You / Moon River makes me really miss his playing. It's a master lesson on how to play. _________________ Bradβs Page of Steel

There was a pleasant blurb-up in the October Guitar Player magazine. Mike Auldridge knew he was dying, and apparently found it quite liberating. Mike is always in the center, Jerry Douglas on the left, Rob Ickes on the right. |

Listening to it now. Just came in the mail this morning. Can't keep the grin off my face. This is a treasure no Dobro picker could possibly live without. Nobody could listen to this and not know how much fun these men had doing this project. |

In general, the thought of three steel guitars playing together fills me with intonation anxiety. The perfect, amazingly dead-on intonation these guys have is humbling. The record is a fitting end for Mike's career plus the cover design lovingly references the cover of his influential 70s debut. Destined to be a classic, definitive statement in acoustic music circles. _________________ Steel Guitar Books! Website: www.volkmediabooks.com |
