Can someone help me identify this speaker? Looks like an EV, but other than that I have no idea and there is nothing written on it...

Alex...if there was writing on the front, it's a dead ringer for a Black/Widow 1502...because of the "Ribbed" paper on the front cone...the 1501 was just a plain front.

Most likely not a Black Widow, BW speakers utilize push tab type connectors to attach the speaker cable in place of the tabs. The magnet does resemble a Peavey however, Scorpion or Blue Marvel?...FWIW: Ribbed vs. smooth cones not necessarily a way to differentiate the two BW models, early 1502 speakers featured smooth (paper) cones as well, the 1502 in my Session 500 has a smooth cone.

David....I noticed the connectors too and B/W's have the red and black spring push in connectors. No soldering.
My Vegas 400 had a B/W 1502 .... I actually blew that speaker  Replaced it with a 1501, but to me it didn't sound the same, even after breaking it in. I had a Session 500, but never bothered to see what the front of the speaker looked like. Great amp ... here comes the "BUT" .... Oh my back

Chinese BW knockoff? It also lacks the screws to hold magnet to basket.

Well seen "Hawkeye" Lane  ...I failed to see that. Perhaps it was as you say a Chinese, ripoff or a pre production B/W from years ago.

| Mickey..Absolutely correct on the speaker connections, have amended my post to read correctly, thank you. Was thinking Eminence EPS series I guess... Also correct on the, "Oh my back" comment, my '500' stays at home and my 35# Milkman Mini performs the duties as my main gig amp. |

Hi David...my amps in my pro days are as follows. Fender twin reverb. Fender twin reverb with J.B.L's. Peavey Session 400 the first ones with the B/W speaker with the picture on it. I'm not sure if the baskets were changeable on those. Then Session 500 with the smaller cab before they went to the larger cab. Vegas 400. Nashville 400 (Split cabs). Now 2x Roland Cube80xl's, although I only use one with speakers out link to the Nashville 400 cab now fitted with a Neo magnet. My back has had a reprieve

| i guess I should have mentioned the little I actually know: speaker is 12". I very much doubt that it comes from a steel amp. Most likely a guitar amp, maybe a Mesa. Boogie? But again EV speaker have the big cast frame so i don't know... There is a code stamped on the frame but it's impossible to decipher. |

I've never seen nor hesrd of a 1502 with a smooth cone. But I guess it could have been smooth in the beginning. I can't find anything on the net about it. Learn something new every day.

Yeah it's not the same speaker:

As posted on CL as of 9.14.14 while ad was active:
Eminence 16 ohm, 12-inch guitar speaker - $20 (Beaverton)
And BW's as well as EV's are cast frames not stamped.
