I'm pretty familiar with his songs but there was one that played a few days ago that I'd never heard (not a new one) and I'm sure that the steel on it wasn't pedal. Anyone know of ones that had non-pedal on them?

Would it be this one?

Here is my version, you can go looking for the Original next. I have put the story behind the Song on my You Tube channel. George Strait got in touch with Kayton Roberts to hire his original Guitar he used on Hanks records just to get that sound. Kayton reports when the Guitar came back there was an envelope in the case containing an extremely generous cheque, more than he would have got if he did the session himself, he joked about staying at home and just hiring out the Guitar.

I'm pretty certain that that isn't it. This sounded more like something from Ocean Front Property era. It may have just been someone on Pedal doing some old western swing moves but it definitely came across more like non-pedal.

That story sounds almost "word-for-word" like the one Don Helms told about Alan Jackson using his Gibson Console Grand (Ole Red) that Don had played with Hank Williams.

Actually Kayton Roberts DID NOT play for Hank Williams (to my knowledge?),,,,Don Helms did. Kayton gained fame for playing for Hank SNOW.
