The steel on this song is an Emmons push-pull into a Nashville 400 through an SM57. Right hand placement was nearer to the pickup instead of the usual 22nd - 24th fret area.

The tone is EQ'd intentionally thin to give texture similar to that of the steel playing that Jerry Garcia did on "Teach Your Children".
