Paul Beard sells a variety of capos. Check the Beard Guitars website at

I like the Beard capo. Works for 8-string lap steel too.

Most of the capos out now are fairly good- the Fluxcapo if you can find one is probably the smallest and handiest. The Beard is really nicely made but has a little thumbscrew that would be WAY easy to lose. The Bradley is about the same design but with a nifty cam lever that won't fall off. I endorse John Pearce stuff and their Shubb- Pearce Dobro capo is a beautiful piece of work- but try one if you can, it's the only one that clamps to both the neck of the guitar and the strings and it only fits certain spacing (of strings to top of fingerboard). They are such nice folks though, if you ordered one and it didn't fit I'm sure they'd take it back. some of the best string prices out there too...

Thank you for all the help that was sent my way. It is nice to get answers to questions that we have. You all have been helpful. I purchased the Beard Capo. I am pleased with the tone and size. However, I agree with the thumbscrew issue. This could be lost very easy. Maybe should order extra? anyway I am pleased. Hope to return the favor soon. Also I will be playing Steel and Dobro at the Dallas Show in March. Hope to see ya there.

God Bless!

I agree with Gene;I have the Flux,Beard and the Leno and the Leno seems to change the tone of my Dobro the least.
