My version of an old standard called "It's A Sin To Tell A Lie". MSA legend pedal steel, Fender Steel King amp mic'd with a Shure SM-57, Hall of Fame reverb set on 'church". Pot pedal with Dunlop HotPotz. Guitar and fiddles used a black face Fender Princeton Reverb. EZDrummer and EZKeys.
Hear It!

Thanks Greg...really nice take on a great tune (that nobody else seems to know)! I'd never thought of this with pedal steel and you nailed it with the C6 swing thing.
I got to see Steve Goodman play this on acoustic guitar when I was a teenager and remember being blown away by his picking (I think I was still at the 3 chord stage)

40 years later, I'm kinda partial to pedal steel now |

Thanks Charlie and Jeff. I've heard this tune done at all different tempos. Perhaps it would make a nice break song if played at blistering speed. It's amazing how many people have covered this song....Patti Page, Fats Waller, Ink Spots, Billie Holiday, Tony Bennett, John Denver etal. |
