Most likely a sitar bar, big heavy bar with a narrow flat side for the buzzing sitar sound. I have a Dunlop sitar bar, great for occasional changeups onstage. Probably made by others as well. When I think I'll use it, I grab it and use the normal round side, then roll it over for a "sitar" solo or fill. _________________ E9 INSTRUCTION

If you use a solid bar (not plated), your local machine shop could do it for you. Just have about a 4 mm wide flat milled down the edge.
I believe both Ernie Ball and Jim Dunlop sell them, looks like the Dunlop 922.
BJS will do them, and I'd bet Steve Gunder would do it at a slight extra charge. I like his bars _________________ 2 pedal steels, a lapStrat, and an 8-string Dobro (and 3 ukes)

Jean-Sebastien, it's a normal bar til you put the flat side down. In fact, it's a handy place to put your index finger.
You can play it normal all night long. _________________ 2 pedal steels, a lapStrat, and an 8-string Dobro (and 3 ukes)

You don't need anything as exotic or expensive as a sitar bar. I use a piece of aluminum bar stock 1/2" X 3/4" about 3" long. You can find it at most any hardware or home improvement store. It also works good for raggae type stuff by muting the strings at the bridge and playing short two string harmonies. A little bit of chorus enhances this effect. _________________ LeGrande II, Nash. 112, Fender Twin Tone Master, Session 400, Harlow Dobro, R.Q.Jones Dobro |

Jim Burden made me one. I specified the diameter and length. His bars are great, and he is fast.
