The NFL is now asking the halftime band to pay.
Before the band was not paid.
Interesting times. It's all about marketing.
Alternately, they should “be willing to contribute a portion of their post-Super Bowl tour income to the league.†|

I had no idea that they made artists pay to play. Maybe that's why they get such crap to play the halftime shows. _________________ Carter D10 8p/8k, Dekley S10 3p/4k C6 setup,Regal RD40 Dobro, Recording King Professional Dobro, NV400, NV112,Ibanez Gio guitar, Epiphone SG Special (open D slide guitar) . AF of M sent out an angry email about this today.
Our Brotherhood is outraged: "Though the NFL doesn't usually pay the performing halftime acts, this seems to be a new low" but then the author commits a putative error in judgment by pointing out that "A 30-second TV commercial cost $3.8 million and there were 45 minutes of advertisements during the game" as if this fact should entitle a performer to a share of the $342 million. A better case could be made that Katy Perry should pay $3.8 million for each half minute to promote her product, just like all the others. $91 million! |

Remember, "the league's contracts with artists are confidential." |

Did anyone see Letterman's take on this last night? Hilarious. A clip of the halftime entertainment with Warren Buffet singing and playing the ukelele. _________________ LeGrande II, Nash. 112, Fender Twin Tone Master, Session 400, Harlow Dobro, R.Q.Jones Dobro |

So, you have to pay for that "exposure"?
Maybe Janet Jackson simply couldn't afford to show us both boobs?
