Heart of Texas Records is pleased to announce the release of “Thanks A lot Texas Troubadour.” The fourteen song CD is a tribute project to Ernest Tubb, who would have celebrated his 100th Birthday in 2014.

“We wanted to do something to honor E.T.” Heart of Texas President Tracy Pitcox said. “E.T. did as much for the Texas music scene as anyone and we wanted to express our appreciation. This is his 100th birthday year and thirty years since his passing. We are proud to tip our hats to the Texas Troubadour.”

The songs include “Walking The Floor Over You” by Tony Booth, “Women Make A Fool Out of Me” by Johnny Bush, “Half A Mind” by Pretty Miss Norma Jean, “Drivin Nails In My Coffin” by George Jones, “Answer The Phone” by Darrell McCall, “Mr. & Mrs. Used To Be” by Amber Digby and Justin Trevino, “Ernest Tubb Melody” by Frankie Miller, “Waltz Across Texas” by Dottsy, “Another Story” by Curtis Potter, “Slipping Around” by Dolly Parton, “Just A Drink Away” by Bobby Lewis, “Thanks A lot” by Georgette Jones, “There’s A Little Bit Of Everything In Texas” by Joe Paul Nichols and “May The Good Lord Bless And Keep You” by George Hamilton IV.

The musicians include Charlie Walton, Pete Wade, Dave Biller, Levi Mullen and Joe Manuel on electric guitar, Justin Trevino, Randy Lindley and Levi Mullen on acoustic guitar, Justin Trevino, Jim Loessbers, Jake Hooker, Dennis Crouch and Duane Wavra on bass, T. Bonta, Floyd Domino and Hargus Pig Robbins on piano, Dicky Overbey on dobro, Dicky Overbey, Jim Loessberg, Doug Jernigan and Rick Price on steel guitar, Jim Loessberg, Dixie Hankins and Smiley Reynolds on drums, Johnny Gimble on mandolin and Bobby Flores, Reggie Rueffer and Hoot Hester on fiddle. The project was produced by Jim Loessberg and Justin Trevino and recorded at the Heart of Texas Recording Studio in Brady, Texas, and Legend Studio in Round Rock, Texas.

Wow! The recording mix is so good it's hard to believe. Tic Tac bass, crystal clear steel guitar, Tommy Jackson like tone on the fiddles. This is no ordinary tribute album. The singing is inspired and the overall sound is as good or better as Nashville used to know how to do.

No surprise. Jim Loessberg is one of the best country music producers in Texas, in addition to being among the finest musicians in the state.
