Standard pedals for C6 is there any way to go from 1 to 4 chord. Steel is MSA D10 8&4 with 1 knee lowering upper E. Thanks Bob Moore

Pedal 6 will give you the IV9 chord relative to the I at any fret.... like using the A+B pedals together on E9

Hit P6.
Or go up three frets and hit P5

Strings 9 8 7 6 5 will give you the root(1) 3rd 5th b7th and 9th....

The Buddy Emmons Basic C6th book is really great to get you going.

..but I get the feeling that the question really is how do you get the I IV change on C6 like you do on E9. Correct me if I'm wrong.

If you want the sound of AB pedalling, it don't do that.

Bob, to amplify what Lane says, I discovered early on that the C6 is all about altering whole chords; you're not so aware of individual notes moving as you are on E9.

And get the Emmons book like Mike says - you'll be hooked in no time Smile

I use Pedal 6, as Mike Nolan states quite a bit for a 4 chord. Up two frets from the root position with pedal 6 and its a 5 chord. A nice 1,4,5 pocket.

Or pedal 7 at the root position is a 5 chord.

Thanks everyone. I just ordered buddy's c6 and Winnie Winston books. Thanks for all your help. I had a homemade 8 string pedal steel with 3pedals and had something like the AB setup. This was 50yrs ago that was why I was asking. Blessings to all for your help. Bob M
