I just picked up a Session 500 for pretty cheap but I think it needs a new power supply. In the meantime, how do the Black Widow speakers sound powered by a Fender Twin?

I had a BW in a '77 Fender Vibrosonic for a while and it sounded good to me. |

Thanks, Walter. I haven't got the Fender with me right now, so I can't try it. I was just wondering about others' experience.

I have a BW in one of Charlie Tryon's CWT tube amps. It sounds absolutely great but I would like to change it back to the Eminence EPS15C that came with it. It had the BW when I got it from Ray Walker years ago. |

The black widow is the speaker of choice for a bunch of top Nashville players. I think Paul Franklin uses them with his Little Walter and Wayne Dahl is using them with his Milkman. They are great speakers. _________________ Bob |

Since my first amp (Twin Reverb with JBL speakers), I have never used any other brand of speaker than JBL or Black Widows. I actually prefer the BW over the JBL. _________________ Carter D10 8p/8k, Dekley S10 3p/4k C6 setup,Regal RD40 Dobro, Recording King Professional Dobro, NV400, NV112,Ibanez Gio guitar, Epiphone SG Special (open D slide guitar) . The 'Session 500' I believe came equipped with the BW '1502-4' which is actually a bass speaker. The '1501-4' came in later models. I have a '1501' with the neo magnet installed in my '67 Twin and it sounds great..Simple enough task to test the BW in the Twin however due to the fact that both amps attach the speakers to the chassis utilizing 1/4" jacks. (You will need a 1/4" to 1/4" coupler and a short speaker cable to perform the test). |

The 1502-4 is what I use. It came in the early Nashville 400's. _________________ Carter D10 8p/8k, Dekley S10 3p/4k C6 setup,Regal RD40 Dobro, Recording King Professional Dobro, NV400, NV112,Ibanez Gio guitar, Epiphone SG Special (open D slide guitar) . Playing for 54 years and still counting. |

I don't see a model number but I think it must be the 1502. It says "Super Structure Focused Field Geometry." |

The 1502 has a ribbed cone and the 1501 has a smooth cone. _________________ Carter D10 8p/8k, Dekley S10 3p/4k C6 setup,Regal RD40 Dobro, Recording King Professional Dobro, NV400, NV112,Ibanez Gio guitar, Epiphone SG Special (open D slide guitar) . Playing for 54 years and still counting. |

I have a Little Walter Amp with 2 12" Black Widows in the open back cabinet. The Black Widow works great in a tube amp. _________________ Zum Steel, Little Walter Amp, Benado Steel Dream

I have two BW 1501-4 enclosures and use them for 15+ years with a Peavey Tubefex + Peavey Classic 50/50 tube amps. They sound great to me.
I like the more full tone, so I have the TrueTone pickup on my Zum S12 Universal wound at 19 kOhms. _________________ Zumsteel S12U
