I have been approached by a lady whose husband has passed on.
She wishes to sell his Mullen D10 (8 x 7). Serial no 2710
From the pictures I have seen, it looks like there are 4 RH levers on the left knee (E9th), and one lkr on the C6th neck. And the usual two on the right knee.

Can anybody identify the year of manufacture?

I have not seen the instrument personally as it is in Oudtshoorn near the South coast, and I live about 800 miles away in Johannesburg. I believe that it was imported 2nd hand from the USA, and this gentleman has only played it at home, and never on a gig.

The asking price is SA Rands 15 000. This is equivalent to about US$ 1 360.

I think this would represent a great deal for someone in South Africa. If interested, I will put you in touch with the present owner.
If there is a serious potential buyer, I think we could get the instrument shipped up to Johannesburg so that we can see if there is any significant wear on the changers. If you require pics, I will send you what she has sent to me. many thanks.

I guess I should have checked the Mullen website first. Looks like this instrument was manufactured in 1995, according to the serial number.

Hello Mickey,
Thank you for your response. South Africa is one of the most expensive locations in the world from the point of view of shipping. At the price the owner was asking, it probably could still have been a viable option to ship to the USA< but she has found a buyer locally through a Facebook ad, who lives not far from me. So I will probably hear from him in due course.
I think there is one other Mullen in South Africa (Cape Town), but I have never heard of it being played anywhere.

Thanks again for your interest.
