I'm posting this banjo for a friend in North Carolina. Asking $3,800 OBO.

George Gruhn, the Nashville-based world renowned authority on vintage stringed instruments, appraised this wonderful banjo at $5,000.

Mr. Gruhn's appraisal reads:

"We certify that the five string banjo described below is, in our opinion, a 1930's style 11 Gibson body which has been fitted with a McPeak flat head tone ring and a replica five string neck and a replica Presto tailpiece. No serial number (typical of the model). The peg head has been cracked and repaired. As is typical of the model the back of the resonator is covered in pearloid and the interior of the wood rim as a "The Gibson" decal. It has an original one piece flange and the metal hardware is nickel plated."

The banjo is currently on display at Gruhn Guitars in Nashville. Winner bidder may
opt to pick up the banjo in Nashville, or it will professionally packed and be shipped, free of charge, from Nashville.
