Bob, That is Steve Easter whom many people call "Rabbit Easter". You may recall Jack Smith passed away a couple weeks ago and he played on their "Wanted Live" album at 16 years of age. Great group and they have all passed on. |

A great example of how to play behind a singer with just the right amount of music that compliments the singers without competing with them. I grew up on the Happy Goodman Family on the Mull singing convention and also the Easter Brothers on Rev. Leonard Repass show. We got two channels on TV and if someone would go outside and turn the antenna, we could get a third, but not all three at once. I miss that era of TV.

Bob, The Goodmans have always been a favorite of mine. I would love for someone to do a youtube video of "Looking For A City" on PSG. Vestal and Johnny cook had a friendly singoff with this song on a video on youtube from 1974. It was an awesome duel to see who could sing the highest. Here is the link if you/anybody would like to check it out. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rf8f32cDAXA |

Todd - thank you for that. It is real fun, I haven't seen that clip before. What a range Johnny Cook had. Incredible. ![Very Happy](images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif) _________________ Show Pro D10 - amber (8+6), MSA D10 Legend XL Signature - redburst (9+6), Sho-Bud Pro 111 Custom (8+6), Emmons black Push-Pull D10 (8+5), Zum D10 (8x8), Hudson pedal resonator. I have seen this video several times. While Johnny Cook is considered to be one of the best tenor singers in gospel music, his range is certainly to be admired. To me the funny part is after Rusty introduced Johnny weighing in at 135 lbs. and then went to introduce Vestal weighing in when she stepped to the microphone and said "You ain't brave enough". I was fortunate to see them live one time in the 70's and Johnny Cook was with them. |
